Nov. 20 Holiday Remembrance Service: Livestream | Memorial Video Tribute
We trace our roots to the early 1890’s when D.W. Newcomer, a sash and door maker, was called upon to construct a coffin for a close friend. This brief encounter led Mr. Newcomer to enter funeral service by opening D.W. Newcomer’s Undertaking and Livery Service in Kansas City, Missouri in 1893. Followed by his son, David Newcomer, and grandson, Warren Newcomer, the Newcomer family continued in funeral service.
In 2012, fourth-generation funeral director Ren Newcomer and his wife Theresa purchased the funeral home from Urban J. Schumacher. Ren and Theresa's children Maggie and John continue the tradition of providing quality funeral service at a fair price that has guided the family for generations.

Our funeral home today
In 2012, Urban J. Schumacher shared that “Schauer & Schumacher was founded in 1905 by my grandfather, followed by my father; and I joined the funeral home after Korea in 1955. I’m very proud of the fact that our family has been serving Green Bay families for so many years, but I felt it was time we joined a company that provides affordable pricing to more families.”
In today's world of large corporations and ever-increasing prices, we are proud to be able to serve you with the highest caliber of personal service at a price that is far below what other funeral homes charge. You have our word that we will continue to work faithfully to uphold the heritage of the Schauer, Schumacher and Newcomer families that has served Green Bay so well for generations.
