Zeno L. Micolichek, age 95, of Green Bay, passed away at his home, Sunday, May 12, 2024, with his loving family at his side.
Zeno was born December 23, 1928 to Harry and Mary (Gerlikowski) Micolichek. He worked for American Motors until he moved back to Green Bay. Upon his return to Green Bay, he worked for American Can and ran a salvage yard. When he moved to Wabeno he worked for Ronnis Brook Logging. After he retired, due to a heart attack, he moved back to Green Bay.
Zeno married Opal Boodry and the couple was blessed with 4 children. Opal passed away, May 10, 2004. He spent many happy years with Joyce Wirkus before she passed away, May 13, 2004.
Zeno was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved trips to the casino.
Zeno is survived by 3 children: Terry (Dave) Sieloff, Larry (Lori) Micolichek and Jerry Micolichek; 12 grandchildren: Heidi, Tim, Jenny, Tami, Stacy, Betty Jo, Billy, April, Jeremiah, Katie, Cassandra and Rachael; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and siblings, Lorraine Binsfield and Syl (Linda) Micolichek.
He is further survived by Joyce's sons: Wayne (Karen) Wirkus, Mike (Lori) Wirkus, Brian (Julie) Wirkus, Steve Wirkus and Scott Wirkus, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Opal; his life-long companion, Joyce Wirkus; his daughter, Sherry Stone; a son, Leonard Micolichek; a granddaughter, Tina; siblings: Harold (Bernice) Micolichek, Clarence (Carol) Micolichek, Andy (Janet) Micolichek, Margaret, Mary, Myron Micolichek, Harry Micolichek Jr., Melvin (Sally) Micolichek and Betty (Phil) Maynard; a brother-in-law, George Binsfield.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Friday, May 17, 2024 from 9 to 11 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Zeno's family would like to express their gratitude to Unity Hospice, especially Brianna, for their incredible care and compassion. Thank you to Zeno's granddaughter, April, who was by his side day and night during his finals days.
