With a twinkle in his eye and laugh that could echo through the halls of joy, Zachary Allen Zeise embarked on his final fishing trip to the great beyond on March 10, 2024, in Madison, Wisconsin. At the youthful age of 35, Zach reeled in a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the occasional stubborn moment. He was the human embodiment of a warm fireplace in a room of chilly strangers, making everyone feel at home with his humor and care.
Zach leaves a legacy of love with his wife Jade; faithful pups Abilene and Peaches; parents Curt and Janet Zeise; sisters Carissa Pottner (and spouse Donald Pottner) and Vanessa Zeise. His niece and nephews Addie, Elijah, Ethan, and Ace will miss their fun-loving uncle and his playful antics. The family tree also includes in-laws James and Olivia Roth, along with brothers-in-law Cody, Jared, Jacob, and Jon Roth, all of whom will feel his absence keenly.
An aficionado of thrifting, Zach could find the treasure in the trifle, and his fishing escapades were legendary, even if the fish sometimes got away with a tale or two. His hobbies were as much a part of him as his big-hearted nature; they were the hooks that brought so much joy to his life.
Instead of a traditional service, a celebration of life that’s as unique and vivacious as Zach himself will be cast into the future. Details will bob along soon on his website and through the social media currents of Facebook.
Zach’s story may have reached its final page, but his chapters are etched in the memories of his loved ones. To all who knew him: cast your lines out and remember the good times. After all, life’s a catch, and so was he.
