Yvonne Marie Biersteker, age 78, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, with her family at her side. She was born March 19, 1943 in Green Bay, daughter of the late LeRoy and Viola (La Count) Luedtke.
Yvonne earned her GED from NWTC, an accomplishment she was very proud of. She married Patrick Biersteker, July 16, 1960 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Yvonne and Patrick shared 61 blessed years of marriage and were blessed with 2 sons. Yvonne was an accomplished bowler and worked as secretary for the Wisconsin Women's Bowling Association for over 20 years.
Yvonne had a kind and welcoming nature. You could often find her acting as hostess to the neighborhood kids, making sure they had plenty to eat. Guests never left the house without something to eat later. She also loved to surprise people with gifts of food left on their porch. Yvonne was an avid reader and loved spending time at the family cabin in Lakewood.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Patrick; 2 sons, Mitch Biersteker and Gary (Kathey) Biersteker; 2 grandchildren, Danielle Biersteker and Stephanie (Jack) Biersteker; great-grandchild, Cayden Biersteker-Cordova and a sister, Beverly (the late Ron) DeLain. She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Dave Raduenz, Laurie Biersteker, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, LaVerne Raduenz.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Parish (645 S. Irwin St., Green Bay), Monday, November 1, 2021 from 10 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.
Yvonne's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital for their care and compassion.
