Wm "Bill" M. Kaufman, age 95, of Green Bay, passed away on November 23, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 2, 1929 to William and Laura Kaufman in Green Bay, WI.
Bill was a proud man with an endearing personality. He had an engineering mindset which guided him from state to state with IBM, until he landed at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Where he enjoyed his 17 years, before retirement.
As Bill would say upon meeting people, "I was hired in the maintenance department and within a year, I was promoted to Assistant VP Facilities Management of five departments; Housekeeping, Maintenance, Construction, Nursing and all New Development, and I never had a secretary!".
Bill married Betty Germain Higgins and had 7 children. After moving to Rochester, he met and married Beverly DeAntonis Kaufman and had 2 sons. He was widowed after Beverly lost her battle with cancer. Bill later met and married Sharon Harris Kaufman, and shared 13 years together, before she also lost her battle with cancer. Following Sharon's passing, he relocated to the Green Bay area, where he spent his remaining years.
Bill is survived by his 7 children; Bill (Mary) Kaufman, Cindy (Curt) Madson, Sue (Mike Johnson) Charney, Tina (Bob) Wiegert, John (Lynn) Kaufman, Matt Kaufman, and Mike (Jessica) Kaufman, his 21 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister; Joyce Bertrand, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his first wife; Betty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 children; Kitty Wendt and Robert Kaufman, 2 grandchildren; Bradley Kaufman and Nicole Wendt, 1 great-grandchild; Harper Payne, his sister; Betty Wallace, 2 brother-in-laws; Chet Wallace and Bud Bertrand.
A Memorial Service will be held in early spring, with date to be determined.
A special thank you to Jessica Kaufman who was not just a daughter-in-law to Bill, to him she was a daughter.
