Wilton Jules Renard Jr.

October 20, 1931 — December 24, 2024

Green Bay

Wilton Jules Renard Jr., age 93, of Green Bay, passed away on December 24, 2024 surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 20, 1931 to Wilton and Ruth Renard in De Pere, WI. He graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1950 and went to work with his father at the Northern Paper Mill. Junie would frequent the beach dances held at Bay Beach Park, where he met the love of his life. On April 11, 1953 he married Claudette Smith. The couple enjoyed just a short time together in Green Bay, before he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. After completing his tour they came back to Green Bay where he returned to work at Northern Paper Mill, continuing for 43 years until retiring in 1994. In order to support his large family, Junie always worked several other part time jobs including bartending, bouncing, and delivery work. He also tireously supported his wife in her endeavors with the Chummy Club and Renard's Catering.

He still found time to coach his boys in little league baseball. His love for woodworking projects painfully cost him parts of a few fingers! He also enjoyed bowling, following the Packers, Badgers and Brewers, and after retiring, going up North to his cabin. Spending time with his friends and family was always a priority. Junie was selfless with his time, always willing to help with anyone's projects. He was a true MacGyver, he could fix anything his own way. He was always joking and teasing, especially with the youngsters who quickly found out it was not a good idea to pull grandpa's finger! He greatly enjoyed going on an Honor Flight to Washington DC in 2015.

Junie is survived by his wife of 71 years, Claudette, their children; Steve Renard, Brian Renard, Renee (Bruce) Renard - Gantz, Dennis (Sue) Renard, Denise (Tom) Englebert, Blake Renard, and Shelly (Michael) Sheean, their 13 grandchildren; Tony (Jessica), Melissa, Justin, Dillion, Kim (Mike), Alix (Tyler), Logan (Claire), Landon (Taylor), Casey, Jack, Sam, Bella, and Emily, and their 9 great grandchildren. Junie is further survived by his brother; Gary (MaryAnn) Renard, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters and their spouses; Ruth (Harry) King, Elsie (Warren) Herman, JoAnne (Lloyd) Herman.
