Wilmer Joseph Monfils, 91, of Green Bay, passed away on December 11, 2024 at home surrounded by loving family.
He was born on July 29, 1933 to Emil and Louise (Parins) Monfils in Union, WI.
Wilmer came from a large farming family, and was the youngest of 7 boys. Wilmer was a brother to his adopted cousin, Marilyn. He completed the 7th grade, and went on to later attend vocational school, where he met his first wife, Shirley Jarvey. Together, they raised 4 beautiful children: Michael, Sherry, Ronald and Steven. In 1953, Wilmer was drafted and served 18 months at Fort Sills, OK, during the Korean War. After honorary discharge, he worked several welding jobs. In the early 60s, Wilmer started work for Green Bay & Western Railroad as a boilermaker. He completed his career as a switchman and retired in 1993. In 1980 , he married Marilyn Litkey and he was blessed with 4 beautiful step-children: Steven, Thomas, David, and Michelle.
Wilmer was a wonderful father and shared his love of fishing, hunting, camping, and the outdoors with his children. One of Wilmer's greatest joys in life was his family, and watching his children go on to start families of their own. He was the most honest man, but also very stubborn. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his little dog, Buddy 1.
Wilmer is survived by his children: Michael (Frances) Monfils, Sherry (Gerald) Wygralak, Ronald (Yvonne) Monfils, Steven (Jodee) Monfils, Steven (Kathy) Litkey, Thomas (Doreen) Litkey, David (Dawn) Litkey, and Michelle Everts. He is also survived by his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
