William P. "Bill" Welling, 79, of Green Bay, passed away on July 3, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on December 25, 1937 in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the son of Aloys and Leonetta (Eigenberger) Welling.
He was a graduate of North High School in Sheboygan, Class of 1956. He served his country while enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was a graduate of UW-Platteville, graduating in 1965. Bill was a civil engineer for the State of Wisconsin and retired after 30 years of employment.
Bill enjoyed sailing, kayaking, cross country skiing, being in nature and was an environmental conservationist. He also enjoyed playing pool and line dancing.
Survivors include his daughters, Susan Welling of Milwaukee and Andrea (Jesse) Linck of Green Bay; grandchildren, Zach, James, Logan and Christian Linck; sisters, Diane Welling of Chicago and Sharon (Welling) Stumbras of Madison; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; good friend, Kathy; brother-in-law, Bernie Stumbras.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 9:30 am-11:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - Green Bay, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
Bill's daughters would like to extend a special thank you to their mother, Kathleen Welling, for being Bill's caregiver for the past five years. Also, to Bill's neighbors, Marsha & Jimmers, Pat & Julie and Unity Hospice for their care of Bill.
