William R. Richards

William "Bill" Richards, age 77, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly due to an automobile accident on Sunday, May 15th, 2022. He was born July 23, 1944 in Riverside, California to William and Betty Richards. The family moved to Iron River, Michigan when Wm. Senior completed his military service.

Bill graduated from the Iron River High School and then attended Northern Michigan University. He worked for the General Adjustment Bureau in Flint for a number of years. When his father passed away, Bill moved back to Iron River to take over the Cox Insurance Agency to keep the family business going. Following that Bill moved to Green Bay where he was involved with various insurance agencies until the time of his death. Bill loved to fish, hunt, gamble, and play golf.

Bill is survived by his children; Kristine (Scott) Derepkowski of Iron River, Kelly Richards of Iron River, Tammy (Dan) Pinkerton of Wausau, Wisconsin, William A. (Angela) Richards of Savannah, Georgia, and his only brother, Gary Richards of Iron River. Many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren also survive.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sandi, in June of 2015. They enjoyed traveling, fishing, and going to the casino together. They were married for over 26 years. He was also preceded by his parents, William (1973), Betty (2022), and a grandson Jordan.

Internment will take place on Tuesday, May 31st , at 10:00 at the Resthaven Cemetery located in Iron River.
