McWey, William F. "Bill", 87, Green Bay, died peacefully at Bellin Hospital on Wednesday, February 08, 2012, to join his Lord and Savior. He was born August 24, 1924, in Green Bay, to the late Charles J. and Carrie (Hannan) McWey.
Bill married the love of his life, which he called Queenie, Corrine Herlache on June 5, 1948. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. Bill was employed by Pfizer Pharmaceutical for thirty three years. He was a wonderful athlete and star running back at St. Norbert College, where he is in the Hall of Fame. Bill was an avid golfer, who shot his age for twenty straight years.
He was a loving husband and father, survived by his wife, Corrine "Corky"; four children: Dr. Patrick (Beth) McWey, Mary McWey, Jeff (Lauren) McWey, and John (Jean) McWey; nine grandchildren: Jason (Luanna) Schaut, Matt (Jessica) Schaut, Colin (Katie) McWey, Kevin (Margaret) McWey, Ross, Max, Adam, Lese, and Breanna McWey; great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Hazel, Olivia, Ryan and Nick; sister-in-law, Deborah Jensen; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Saturday, February 11, 2012, at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Green Bay, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials be made to United Special Sportsman's Alliance (USSA), which funds a fishing excursion for underprivileged children. Please memo Algoma Outing.
