William (Bill) T. Magaurn, 84, Green Bay (Hobart) passed away peacefully on July 7, 2016 at Jack and Engrid Meng Unity Hospice. Born on June 14, 1932 to the late William and Edesia (Larkin) Magaurn. Bill attended Fort Howard grade school, Washington Jr. High and graduated from East High with the class of 1950. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy serving for 4 years aboard an aircraft carrier and was honorably discharged. Bill worked for the Northern Paper Mill and then with the Green Bay and Western Railroad. Bill retired 34 yrs later as the Manager of Accounting. On May 13, 1961 he married the former Karen L. Bill was active in many sports to include, Handball, Racquetball, Fast pitch Softball, Baseball, and Basketball. A sports reporter of the Green Bay Gazette once described Bill as, "the tireless Bill Magaurn". Later, he found his true passion for the game of Golf and played on many courses including those in Wisconsin, Arizona and Florida. Bill's most notable moments were his two holes in one. He belonged to the Brown County Men's Club and every Thursday he and his foursome of Jeff, Dave, and Pete would tee off at 12:30pm. Bill was a caring father, devoted husband and dedicated to those he served with. He loved to take family vacations to destinations like Florida, and the "cool" winters of AZ. Bill cared about others more than himself, he was kind and generous; Bill always wanted to help those that he came into contact with.
