William Douglas Jerabek, 77, of Denmark, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 at Woodside Lutheran Home.
He was born on December 5, 1946 to William and Dorothy Jerabek in Kewaunee, WI. He graduated from Kewaunee High School and attended Nursing School in Milwaukee. He spent his working career as both a Registered Nurse and running the family owned business, Home Insulators Inc. When he wasn't working he was playing drums and singing in numerous Polka bands over the years; the longest one being the Clete Bellin Orchestra. He was always open to a game of Cribbage and was known for telling good jokes.
William met the love of his life, Melody Cherney, one night on a "dance job" at Eddie Whipps in the Town of Eaton. They were married for 45 years before her passing in 2019. Together they had three children and enjoyed making yearly trips to Orlando as a family.
William is survived by his loving children; Jason (Brooke) Jerabek, Sara Zacek and Molly (Aaron) Arneson; eight grandchildren: Jack, Hailey, Laney, Lincoln, Sam, Charlie, Audrey and Fox; siblings: Jerry (Nancy) Jerabek, Dan (Lila) Jerabek, Anne (Roy) Seidl, Joe Jerabek, Jim (Monica) Jerabek, Kate (Doug) Elwell and Paul (Sharon) Jerabek; brother-in-law, Wencel (Lori) Cherney; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Melody; his parents; in-laws, Adrian and Joyce Cherney; brother, John Jerabek; sister-in-law, Mary Jerabek; godson, Tony Jerabek; and nephews, Nate Elwell and Bodey Seidl.
