William "Bill" Gordon, 67, of Green Bay passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2014.
He was born on January 17, 1947, to the late Raymond and Susan Gordon in Goodman, WI. He graduated from Goodman High School in 1965 and on July 20 1975, Bill married the love of his life Elizabeth (Corpus).
Bill was a longtime employee of Green Bay Packaging until his retirement in February of 2002. Since then he has been visible in the community as a crossing guard for the City of Green Bay. Most recently Bill could be found volunteering his time and expertise helping to rebuild and restore the Fort Howard Log Cabin.
Bill was a loving family man who was active in coaching his son's baseball teams and, later, cheering on his children and grandchildren at their every sporting event. He enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors "up north" tapping trees for maple syrup, hunting and just spending time with family and friends. When he wasn't rooting for the Chicago Bears, he could be found using his talent for woodworking to make special projects and gifts for loved ones.
Bill is survived by wife Liz; children Billie (Chris) Fischer and Raymond (Sarah) Gordon; grandchildren Ryley Fischer and Adelaide and Mason Gordon; and honorary grandchildren Dayna and Christopher Ronsman, all of Green Bay. He also had a special place in his heart for his brother-in-law and partner in crime Tony Corpus.
He is further survived by his siblings; Sandra Toth of Iron Mountain, MI, Judith (Michael) Cassidy of Goodman, WI, and Raymond (Sandra) Gordon of Wausaukee, WI as well as many many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
The family would like to thank Tom and Irene and Jim, Sue and Nico for always being there to help out.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
