Wayne F. Vander Meulen

April 3, 1932 — November 1, 2021

Wayne F. Vander Meulen, 89, of Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully at home on November 1st, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Born on April 3rd, 1932 in Green Bay to the late Marvin and Yvonne Vander Meulen. He graduated from East High School, class of 1950. On May 3rd, 1958 he married the love of his life, Doris J. Rouse. She preceded him in death on April 23rd, 2019. As a young man he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard being part of the 32nd Infantry.

He was employed by Brown County Highway Department for 37 years, retiring on February 18th, 1994. He had many passions - music being a big part of his life. From a young age he enjoyed playing the accordion, especially with his parents, brother and relatives, always ready to play a tune. Fascinated with history, he embraced sharing his knowledge with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed carrying on the tradition of teaching his children and grandchildren the wonders of the outdoors (hunting, fishing, trapping, wilderness survival). The "Shack" up north was his tranquility.

Wayne was a friend to many, loved by all he knew and will be dearly missed. By God's grace he is reunited with his beloved wife, Doris. This gives us comfort.

Wayne is survived by three children: Randy (Mary), Nancy (Gregg), and James (Brenda); nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by cousins, nephews, nieces, and in-laws. Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Keith and Judy.

In keeping with Wayne's wishes, there will be a family gathering and no funeral.
