Warren John Haganes, of DePere, age 84, died peacefully at his home with his family at his side Sunday evening, December 19, 2021. Born November 24, 1937 outside of Kodan, WI., he was the only son of the late Curtis and Florence Haganes. Warren married Marilyn Raduenz Dahlke on August 1, 1959, at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Luxemburg, WI.
Together they had four daughters: Darcy, Lori, Sherry, and Shelly. After living out of state, they settled back in Wisconsin where they raised their family. From an early age until his retirement, Warren loved working with people, enjoying various careers. He was very active in his church, Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Green Bay, serving in many capacities. He also served 19 years on the board of directors of Lutheran Counseling and Family Services of Wisconsin.
Warren loved being with family and friends and lived life to the fullest. His faith in Jesus Christ sustained him through the many joys and challenges of life. He and Marilyn loved to travel, especially with their sister and brother-in-law MarJean and Tom Malchow. Warren's family was his joy. The wonderful memories will be cherished by all.
Warren is survived by his wife of 62 years: Marilyn of DePere; his daughters: Darcy (Pat) Wanzong of Madison, Lori Haganes (Wayne) Johnson of Cecil, Sherry (Mark) Duff of Sheboygan and Shelly (David) Karolus of Antigo; his grandchildren: Meagan (Mario) Martinez, Leah Wanzong, Anthony Jamroz, Chris Jamroz, Sarah (Tommy) Irish, Rachel (Ryan) Klippert, Stephanie Karolus, Rebekah (Hayden) Lukas, John Karolus and Joshua Karolus (Jessica Niemeier); great-grandchildren: Isla Irish and Oswald Lukas; and his brother-in-law Tom Malchow. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hope Marie Karolus and his sister-in-law MarJean Malchow.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church (120 S Henry St, Green Bay) from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A funeral will follow at 11:00 AM. Marilyn requests that people please wear masks on this day. Thank you. Interment will be at the Nicolet Memorial Gardens, (also known as Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum), 2770 Bay Settlement Road, Green Bay. Pallbearers are Warren's grandchildren and spouses.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Camp Luther, Inc., Three Lakes, WI; Lutheran Counseling and Family Services of Wisconsin or to Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Green Bay.
