On Friday, August 11, 2023, God called our mom home to Heaven to be with Him and our dad, and the rest of mom's family, who had passed before. Our mom, the former Virginia Marie Mercier, was the sixth child of Alvin H. and Louise (Janssen), born April 8, 1932.
Mom graduated from 8th grade at Saint Francis Cathedral School in 1946 and Saint Joseph's Academy in 1950. On January 6th, 1951, mom married the "love of her life", Louis M. Waerzeggers. This marriage produced 3 children: Mark L., John L. and Mary Beth.
Mom was a Wisconsin Real Estate Broker. Dad and mom wintered in Paradise Park, Mc Allen, TX for 17 years. There mom obtained her Mobile Home Broker's License and sold many mobile homes there until dad's health worsened. Dad passed January 27th, 2009, a very difficult time for mom.
Survivors are her children: Mark Louis and his daughters, Sherri (Blake) Basch and Kacie (Russell) Blahnik and son, Derek (Amy) Beauleau, John Louis (Pam Mattson) and his daughter, Melissa (Mike) Daniels and son, Ryan and Mary Beth (Jim) Gauthier and their daughters, Nicole (Greg) King and Katie (Jackson) Zingsheim; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alvin H. and Louise H. Mercier; 3 sisters: Beulah (Lloyd) Kemnitz, Marjorie (Tom) Algers and Eileen (Martin) Liebergen; 2 brothers, Joseph C. (Jeannine) Mercier and Donald F. (Johanna) Mercier; brothers and sisters-in-law: Benedict P. (Marion) Waerzeggers, Albert Waerzeggers and Elizabeth (Raymond) Nead; nieces, Jeanne Maes and Barbara Krause and a nephew, David Liebergen.
