Green Bay

Virginia Lee Pullen, 91, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home in Green Bay, WI, on February 13, 2025. She went to sleep the evening prior and woke up in the "Arms of Jesus". Virginia was born on June 4, 1933, to Lee and Marilla Stickel of Brimfield, IL. After Virginia graduated from Princeville IL High School, she went on to business school which lead to a bookkeeping career.

She continued her career and then fulfilled her biggest dream of becoming a Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Virginia will be lovingly remembered by her beloved 3 children: Jan (Tom) Johnson, Jim (Debbie Zanoni) Pullen, Donna (Larry) King; 4 grandchildren: Brian Johnson, Stephanie (Jacob) Iodence, Carly (Brian) Bortmess, Sam King and 6 great grandchildren: Evan Bortmess, Leighton Johnson, Haiden Johnson, Collins Iodence, Eloise Bortmess, and Brooks Iodence.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Lee and Marilla Stickel, and her brother James Stickel.

Virginia loved the Lord and loved her church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Green Bay for over 60 years. She served in every way possible; she taught Sunday School, served on various committees, volunteered at the youth group activities, Bible Studies, UMW, Books and Bites, and Circle. She was also a member of PEO, a sisterhood sorority. Virginia loved to golf but most of all to travel with her family and to visit her family. She loved her friends and filled her home with warmth and kindness.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church (501 Howe St., Green Bay, WI). Followed by a joyful Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. The service will be live streamed on the church's website. www.fumcbg.org
