Virginia "Ginny" M. Carpentier, 88, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 27, 2013. Ginny was born Sept. 13, 1924, in Fond du Lac, Wis., to Herman and Florence Samuel. She attended Fond du Lac schools and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. On April 30, 1949, she married Frank J. Carpentier in Fond du Lac, Wis., who preceded her in death. Ginny was a New York model, secretary at the United Nations, woman of the year at the Pentagon, art teacher, writer, poet, artist, antique dealer and collector and much more. She loved her family, friends and her cat, McKatie. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her three children and their families, John and Lisa Carpentier, Dave and Nancy Smith and Jim and Christy Carpentier; along with her other relatives.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 30, 3 p.m. at Union Congregational United Church of Christ, 716 S. Madison St., in Green Bay.
The family would like to thank St. Vincent Hospital and Unity Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
