Thomas "Tom" Swille, age 81, died peacefully Friday November 17, 2023, at home with his wife and daughter by his side. Tom died after struggling 9.5 months with cancer due to Agent Orange exposure while in the military. He was born August 9, 1942 in Green Bay to Willard and Edna Swille. On October 28, 1978 Tom married the love of his life, Darlene Klysen.
Tom enlisted in the Marines serving from 1961 until 1966. After returning home he worked for various businesses, and eventually joined the Green Bay Fire Department, working as a firefighter. He was a well known artist, carving birds and waterfowl from wood and contributed several to Ducks Unlimited. Tom was also a "scratch built" model ship builder. Winning Gold, Silver, and People's Choice Awards at the Wisconsin Maritime Museums Midwestern model ships and boats contest. He was a lover of everything trains. Building and rebuilding three, inch and a half scale, live steam trains and one diesel electric. Tom was a very talented man and knew it came from God. He loved the Lord and honored him with his life. His death is not a goodbye, it's a see you later.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Darlene, one daughter, Jennifer (Larry) Seay, one grandson, Dylan Jauquet, and sister, Linda (Mel) Brunette.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 11:00 am at Spring Lake Church, 2240 Klondike Road Green Bay, with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Adam Jackson officiating. Private inurnment will take place at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers please direct memorials to the NEW Zoo in Tom's name.
