Thomas Paul Berzinski, fondly known as Tom, T-Tommy and Grandpa Tom-Tom, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the age of 63. He was born on May 20, 1960, in Wakefield, MI, to Walter and Beverly (Aijala) Berzinski. In 1962, the family relocated to Green Bay, WI, where Tom spent his formative years. He graduated from Green Bay East High School with the class of 1978, then attended UWGB where he made many life-long friendships.
Tom had a passion for hockey that ran deep. Over the years, he was part of many leagues starting with Allouez’s first youth league and more recently the St. Mikes’ and Cropseys’ leagues, which both took home medals at the Badger State Games.
Tom was known for his generosity and loyalty as a friend. He had a remarkable ability to evoke memories through the smallest keepsakes he had preserved over the years. As a self-proclaimed goofball, Tom loved making people laugh whether it was with a joke, a funny T-shirt or one of his signature dance moves.
He loved being a Grandpa and had a seemingly never-ending cache of $2 bills and candy to hand out every time his grandkids came to visit.
Tom is survived by his wife of 23 years, Cathy Chevalier, her daughter Emilie (Barry) Kalpinski, grandchildren June and Henry Kalpinski, brothers Mike (Diane) Berzinski and Gerry Berzinski, along with many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bev and Huntz Berzinski.
Tom's warm and quiet presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 18, 2024 at 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at St. Michael's Pub (1539 Riverside Dr, Green Bay, WI 54301).
