Steve Oliver

May 26, 1952 — May 19, 2017

Stephen (Steve) James Oliver, 64, of Green Bay, WI, beloved husband, father, papa, brother and friend was called home peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, May 19, 2017 at his home.

Steve was born May 26th, 1952 to Francis and Dorothy (Demeny) Oliver. He will be remembered for his love of life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially if it included an ice cold beer, fishing, hunting, listening to oldies while sitting on his deck. Steve especially loved having his family come together for a home cooked meal. Since early childhood Steve enjoyed watching his beloved Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers. He adored his three wiener dogs, Iggy, Cubby and Wrigley. Steve had an unmatched zest for life and was the kind of guy everyone wanted as a friend.

Steve is survived by his wife Cindy Oliver and his three children, Michael Oliver and his significant other Sara Clark, Christy (Chris) Naniot and Julie (Chris) Michiels. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Hannah and Emma Oliver, Thalia and Nolan Naniot and Jake Wessley. His siblings Marie (Ray) Ferguson and Larry (Gayle) Oliver. Along with sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, aunts, cousins and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis "Nig" and Dorothy Oliver, his brother, Mark Oliver, and sister, Stella Sudduth, as well as his father-in-law, Edmund Blavat, and mother-in-law, Clare Blavat.
Visitation will be at Newcomers Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Visitation will continue from 10 - 10:45 AM on Wednesday, May 24th followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church, Green Bay at 11:00 AM, followed by Full Military Honors. Interment will be private at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

To celebrate Steve and his love of sports, we encourage those attending the evening visitation to come wearing the colors of their favorite sports team; alternatively, purple is representative of pancreatic cancer.

The Steve Oliver family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Patel and the wonderful staff at the Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic; their care and support provided Steve many quality months following his cancer diagnosis.
