Sister Rose Marie Levesque, 74, of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, returned peacefully to our Heavenly Father on December 2, 2013. Sister was born in Erie, PA, on April 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Charles and Jeanne (Ouellet) Levesque.
Sister Rose Marie entered Our Lady of Charity, Green Bay, on August 31, 1981. In her 29 years of service, Sister served the community in a number of ministries: as staff member and coordinator of the Sisters in Holy Name Seminary, Madison; in the activities department of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling, WV; activities department of Hamburg, NY, where she worked as driver and as superior of the community of sisters; in Pittsburgh, PA, as aide in the alter bread department; as cook and coordinator of St. Andrew's Retreat House in Walden, NY; finally in Green Bay as assistant cook. Sister also offered hospitality to the families and friends of the community. During these 29 years, Sister Rose Marie served the Lord with a generous heart and resolute will.
Sister Rose Marie is survived by two sisters, Janet (Daniel) Wisniewski & Lucille (Harry) Jones, nieces, nephews and the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Maurice and Charles, one sister-in-law, Cheryl.
Visitation will be held in the Convent Chapel at 2560 Shawano Ave., from 9:00am until 11:00am on Saturday, December 7, 2013. The Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00am with Rev. Bill Ribbens officiating. Interment will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Newcomer Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
