Sister Clairann Peplinski, OSF, age 88, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross, died on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The former Beatrice Marcella Peplinski was born on November 21, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI, daughter of the late Alex and Wanda (Glodowski) Peplinski. She entered the convent in 1953, professed her vows in 1956, and celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 2014.
Sister Clairann received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from State Teachers' College, Stevens Point, WI. She served as a teacher at St. Francis Pre-Novitiate, Champion; a core member of the Chapel Shrine, Champion; religious education coordinator at the Door Co. Peninsula parishes of Dykesville, Champion, and Holy Cross, Bay Settlement. She was involved in Community service at the Motherhouse from 2008 until her retirement in 2014.
Sister Clairann will be remembered for her positive spirit and her smile that brightened up every room and heart. She loved to be with people and made everyone feel welcome. She had a song for every occasion and would share that song with enthusiasm and joy. Her interest in people was evident in her concern for them and her desire to know how they were. Sister Clairann made sure she knew what was going on in the world by listening to public radio and discussing the issues of the day.
She was grateful for all that people did for her and shared her deep faith and love of God in all she said and did.
Survivors include the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross and Associates; brother, Robert (Cheryl), Big Bend; three sisters, Sister Jeanette and Annette Horvath, Green Bay, Jean (Robert) Brzezinski, Wausau, and sister-in-law Sally Peplinski, Wisconsin Rapids. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Alex and Wanda; sister, Dolores; brother, Alex; brother-in-law, Albert Pierce.
Friends may call at St. Francis Convent, 3110 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay on Wednesday, July 12 at 4:00 p.m. for the reception of the body and visitation. The Vigil Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Visitation for Sister Clairann will continue on Thursday, July 13, at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Dean Dombroski as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Francis Convent Cemetery.
