Shirley A. (Peterson) Vickman, 84, of Green Bay, passed peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024 with family at her side.
Shirley was born October 31, 1939 in Escanaba, MI, to Alfred and Anne (Rowell) Peterson. She was the eldest of 13, a big sister, and second mom to many.
Shirley (aka Wonder Woman) loved life and lived large. She retired from Proctor & Gamble paper mill. She enjoyed traveling out west with her late husband, rock picking, and pursued many talents. She was a gifted quilter, a coin and stamp collector, a master gardener, a great cook, and an astrology and numerology expert. She also did many mechanical and construction projects. She could fix anything.
Shirley is survived by her three daughters: Sharon S. Lindberg (Rick Steeno), Karen M. Hanson, and Sue A. Ropson, all of Green Bay; three brothers: Tom (Mary) Peterson, Jeff (Linda) Peterson, and Joe (Lorie) Peterson; four sisters: Irene (Richard) Mileski, Laura (Mark) Orendorff, Dora (Brad) Phillips, and Eunice (Rick Moehring) Peterson; five grandchildren: April M. Thyrion (Kelli Metoxen), Nicole L. Woodliff (Gene Schmitt), Casey Nichols, Brandon (Hailey) Ropson, and Aaron Ropson; nine great-grandchildren; Dakata J. Thyrion, Nate Tiesling, Eiden Metoxin, Cayden C. Woodliff, Riley J, Woodliff, Derrick Larock, Jennifer Larock, Zayn and Wyatt Ropson and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Daniel F. Vickman, grandparents, Julia (Betts) and Alvin Rowell, mother Annie M. Peterson, father Alfred T. Peterson, sisters Audrey Kiefert and Sandra (Dennis) Neuens, brothers Earl M. Peterson and Donald Wayne Peterson, and infant son Russell J. Thyrion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Manna for Life Ministries, 1545 University Ave, Green Bay, WI on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
