Shirley A. Anderson

July 19, 1940 — December 18, 2024

Shirley A. Anderson, 84, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born on July 19, 1940 to Frank and Bernice (Ostrenga) Petasek in Green Bay. On October 31, 1959 she married Sheldon Anderson. They raised four daughters: Sandy, Sheila, Sherry, Shelly. Her passion was her family and her faith. She was the glue to the family. Shirley loved to play Yahtzee, clean, cook, no one left her home hungry; and babysitting all her grandchildren, or anyone that needed a loving place to leave their children. She always welcomed everyone with open arms. 


Shirley is survived by her daughters: Sandy (Bill) Faltynski, Sheila (Bob) Stankiewicz, and Shelly (Craig) Rouse; nine grandchildren: Kristy (Tom) Wyckoff, Stephanie (Antonio) Cummings, Kayla (Brett) Simmons, Ben Stankiewicz, Shalyn (Jordan) Rosek, Nick (Shelby) Kaisershot, Lauren Kaisershot, Ashley Rouse, and Brennan (Dana) Rouse, 11 great-grandchildren: Camden, Aubrey, Grayson, Diamond, Ashten, Tony, Hudson, Azalea, Pressley, Sienna, and Quentin; one sister, Ethel Helgerson, one brother, Clarence "Shep" Petasek, and three sisters-in-law: Clarice Petasek, Clara Petasek, and Cathy Anderson; she was further survived by a special niece, Judy Oettinger, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Sheldon, one daughter, Sherry, 9 brothers: Alvin (Pat), Dick (Delores), Dave (Irene), Peter, Frank (Rosemary), Norbert, Jake (Tiny), Robert (Carol), and Leonard (Fay) Petasek; two sisters: Elsie (Tony) Gierczak and Ceil (Carl) Matzke, and two brothers-in-law: Thomas Helgerson and Bruce Anderson. 

 

Shirley's wishes were to have a private service with inurment to take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park, Green Bay.

 

The family would like to extend a thank you to Unity Hospice, her neighbors, Kari and Tatum, for all the care, comfort, and support that they gave to Shirley and the family.
