Sharon Marie Wilson
June 26, 1960 — July 3, 2023
Sharon (Big Dog) Wilson, age 63 of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Sharon was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 26, 1960.
Sharon attended Tilden High School and Kennedy King College. She worked as a Key Puncher Operator until she took her talents to Health O Meter, building scales that were shipped around the world to multiple hospitals. She than made a life sacrifice to give her children a better life by leaving Health O Meter, to move to Green Bay, Wisconsin, working for multiple factory jobs to continue to support her family until she found her purpose, which was to continue to be caring. So she worked for Children's World Day Care Center, which opened plenty doors at other day care centers.
Sharon had six children with Eluster E. Wilson Jr. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She definitely loved to cook. Wherever she was located, she would take the community, old or young, in as her own. She really did feed multiple villages. She was known as Ma to thousands of people.
She was such a caring, dedicated, motivated individual, and very family oriented. That is why she decided to continue to stay in Iowa, to be closer to her younger grandchildren and great grandchildren. Heart so pure and full of gold, sprinkled with white gold and platinum. A rare breed of a loving individual.
Sharon is survived by her sons, Eluster (Heather) Wilson 3rd, Maurice Wilson, and Jeremy Wilson; her brother, Willie Samuel Scott Jr.; grandchildren: Tearrie Farrell, Samiya, Samone, Samore, and Sammie Burch, LayQwan, LayJay, Layeeasha, and Maurice Wilson Jr.; great grandchildren Jah'Mir and Jessiah Humphrey. She is also survived by two aunts Lavonia Miles, Catherine (Bishop Jim) Young, two uncles: John (Rebecca) Scott Jr. and Orville Stevens; niece Janae Scott and nephew Willie Scott 3rd, and plenty of cousins along with other relatives.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Janie Mae and Willie Samuel Scott Sr, her infant children Lester and Jeremiah Wilson, her daughter Dominique Marie Wilson, and grandchildren Mauricea Donna Marie, Jeana Mae Dominique, and Ammariana Michelle Wilson.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 1:00pm until 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm.
