Sharon Christenson, 71 of Suring, passed away unexpectedly August 23, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital. Sharon was born June 30, 1942 to the late Margaret (Missall) and Elton Giese. Sharon married Albert (Joe) Christenson in August of 1964. Sharon was employed at Elliott Glove Company in Gillett for many years. Joe & Sharon lived in Suring all of their lives; while traveling with their family to wonderful places to camp; including Canada, Yellowstone Park, Upper Michigan and the family's favorite place…Lost Lake in Tipler. Sharon loved to fish, often times reeling in huge Bass which she loved to eat! Her other hobbies included her animals, gardening, planting flowers, crafting, baking and finding treasures at rummage sales. Sharon was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed.
Sharon was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, niece, friend and cousin to many. She is survived by her daughters Tina (Nate) DeKeyser of Krakow and Billie Jo (Scott) Rice of Manawa. She admired and loved her grandchildren, TJ Kros, San Diego, CA; Matthias Schimpf, Krakow; Rachel (Steve) Rice, Cloverleaf Lakes; Toni (Aaron) Koehler of Necedah; Harmony Rice of Manawa and Brianna DeKeyser of Menominee, MI. She also was a great grandmother to Abigail and Heath Koehler of Necedah. Her sister, Sandra (David) Rich of Suring, Wi was also an important part of her everyday life.
Sharon is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe; daughter Tracy, mother and father, Marge and Elton Giese; and nephew, Tom McAvoy.
A memorial service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Breed, with Pastor Paul Scheunemann officiating. Visitation begins at 10am with a service at 11am followed by dinner.
