Sandy L. Solcz, 82, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2024. She was born on December 2, 1941 to Arthur and Florence (Gelinski) Behrendt in Green Bay. She graduated from Green Bay West High School and attended college in Pasadena, California where she earned her Associate's Degree. On January 31, 1964 she married George Solcz and together they resided in Green Bay with their two children. Sandy worked for Shopko Pharmacy for 35 years.
Sandy had a passion for showing her Doberman Pinschers which achieved numerous championships. She would spend her weekends traveling to dog shows throughout the Midwest in her motor home with George. Sandy was a member of the Packerland Kennel Club, where she mentored and trained other members to handle their dogs. She also had a passion for her Chevy Camero where she tirelessly kept it shiny and new. She enjoyed gardening and her favorite place to go to on Sunday nights was the Redwood Inn. She also took pride in her appearance with frequent hair and nail appointments. Sandy was an avid Packer fan. She cherished spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren.
Sandy is survived her son, Greg (Tricia) Solcz; her daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Froelich; four grandchildren: Emma and Garrett Solcz, Evan and Jacob Froelich; and her fur children: Alex and Gabby.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George, and her parents.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for both Sandy and George, who passed away back in March, will be on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, Receptions, 340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her very good friend Rose and all of her numerous friends from the dog community. Another special extension of thanks goes to her close neighbors for all their help and support.
