It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Sande J. Walker, 59, of Oconto Falls, WI on January 30, 2020. Sande was born in Oconto Falls, WI on September 9, 1960, the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Glass) Wegner. She was the youngest of their six children. Sande graduated from Suring High School in 1978. She married Bob Walker on April 26, 1986 and together they raised two sons, Jordan and Luke Walker. They were looking forward to celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary with a planned trip to Arizona.
Sande was a very compassionate healthcare provider who cared deeply for her patients and co-workers serving over 40 years with the Community Memorial Hospital, HSHS St. Claire Memorial Hospital and recently Prevea Lena Health Center. She will always be remembered for her caring, giving and kind hearted ways. Through marriage, motherhood, family and friendships it was easy to see what a special woman she was. Those memories will remain in the hearts and minds of those who cherish her and those who were lucky to have known her.
Sande was passionate about her two dogs Emme and Amos and was responsible for feeding any wildlife that came anywhere near the property. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, babysitting and spending time with family and friends. She was an excellent God Mother to her God Children.
Survivors include her husband Bob; two sons: Jordan Walker and Luke (Katie) Walker; siblings: Robert Wegner, Marlin (Sande) Wegner, Jim (Betty) Wegner, Connie Gardebrecht, Bev (Rocky) Kostreva and a special nephew, Jim Wegner; mother-in-law Henrietta (Hank) Walker; brother-in-law Michael (Eileen) Langyel; sisters-in-law: Carla (Gayle) Langyel Mathews, Suzanne Gibson (Ron LaRock) and Lisa Langyel; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Sande was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Margaret; brothers-in-law: Harvey Gardebrecht, James Walker, Jeff Langyel and her niece Lisa Korb.
Visitation for Sande will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 5pm-8pm at Grace Lutheran Church (501 S. Main Street, Oconto Falls, WI). Visitation will continue on Friday, February 7th, 2020 from 9am-11am until the time of service at 11am with Pastor Gary Olson officiating.
