Sally Ann (Degroot) Mcdonald

April 5, 1930 — January 24, 2016

My story began on April 5, 1930. I was born the second daughter of Mae (Phillips) and Al DeGroot.

While teenagers, Chet McDonald and I fell in love. We were married in 1951 and were blessed with four wonderful children.

During the next sixty one years, many happy memories were shared as our family enjoyed boating, traveling and especially our Christmas Eve Celebrations.
As empty nesters, Chet and I became business partners in McDonald Lumber Co. Inc. We were later joined by our children and grandchildren in the venture.
My journey ended on Sunday, January 24, 2016 and so another chapter begins for me as I go to another place to join my husband Chet. Waiting for me are my parents, my in-laws, Margaret and Chester McDonald, my sister Betty Gilson and our Beloved son, Michael.

For a time, I leave my two daughters, a son, their spouses, grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. They are: Denise and Tom Moore, Darcee McDonald, Jacque and Chet McDonald III, Dr. Angela Moore, and John Flatley, Katie and Chester McDonald IV (Chip), Mackenzie, Hayden and Pat McDonald, Chester McDonald V (Will) Eleanor Flatley and my special niece: Margaret Matuszak.

I request a private funeral service, and to all I leave the message from the lyrics of my favorite song, "Volare."

"Your love has given me wings". Gaga
