Ruth Ann Wypiszynski

September 2, 1929 — February 6, 2024

Ruth Ann Wypiszynski, 94, of Green Bay, WI, passed away February 6, 2024, very peacefully with her daughter by her side, after a four-month battle to recover her health from multiple setbacks that initially began with an infection to her foot. Ruth was born in De Pere, WI, to the late Ben and Eva (Kornowski) Micolichek on September 2, 1929. She grew up in Pine Grove, WI with her two brothers, Benjamin, and Donald; and three sisters, Virginia, Bernice, and Ruby (her twin).

As her life progressed from childhood to adulthood, Ruth married Florian Wypiszynski on September 2, 1950 (what a gift to herself on her twenty-first birthday!). They enjoyed fifty-nine wonderful years of marriage together, before Florian’s passing in 2009. Moving along in life, she added the title of “Mother” to three children (Cathy, Cindy, and Robert), “grandmother” to four (Ben, Matt, Courtney, and Haleigh), “great grandmother” to three (Bergen, Logan, and Archer), forged lifelong friendships, with too many to mention by name and eventually took on the role of care giver to her mother, sister, husband, and several other family members as they became ill.

Through all those years, Ruth enjoyed spending time with family and friends, always at the heart of gatherings to celebrate an event or just because, loved dancing (and watching) the polka with Florian whenever the opportunity presented itself, attending church services at St. Bernard’s, listening to the music of Daniel O’Donnell, solving word search puzzles, spending time and conversation with friends, playing cards (“31” to be more exact) with family and friends to no end, league bowling with their friends, dipping her toes into an occasional casino to try her luck with against a “one armed bandit”, cooking, watching the Green Bay Packers play on Sundays along with many, many other activities and interests!

Ruth is survived by children: Cindy Wypiszynski-White and Robert (Traci) Wypiszynski: grandchildren, Matthew (Debbie) Williquette, Courtney (Darryl) Malone and Haleigh (James) Stewart: great grandchildren, Bergen Williquette, Logan Stewart, and Archer Malone. Ruth was preceded in death by Ben (father), Eva (mother), Virginia, Bernice, Ruby (sisters), Benjamin, and Donald (brothers), Catherine Garot (daughter), Benjamin Garot (grandson), Florian’s family and a great number of close, lifelong friends.

Mom/Ruth surely set a great life example for all of us in the manner in which she lived, her devotion to family, long lasting relationships with friends, belief in God, work ethic, toughness when faced with challenges, her kindness and smile for everyone she met and just her overwhelming enjoyment of life leaves us with no doubt that when she meets up with her maker, the first thing she will hear is, “Well done Ruth, well done!”

We would also like to express our greatest and most sincere appreciation to Mr. Ken Drevs for the care and love he gave to Mom/Ruth, alongside her daughter, as a son would for so many years, from our hearts, thank you so very much Ken! We would also like to express and extend a special thank you and appreciation to Ms. Christina Olson, NP who shared Ruth and her family’s goals to recover her health, very much appreciated! The staff at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Odd Fellows Astor Terrace Rehab and the Odd Fellow home are also in our appreciation for the care they provided to Mom/Ruth along her journey.

Ruth will be sadly missed, but she will be remembered greatly by all that knew her! So, as our mom, grandma and friend would always say at the end of every conversation, “I don’t know nothing else … Bye!”
