Rosella E. (Geil) Evenson, 83, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 following a long journey of Dementia. She was born in Oconto, WI on August 13, 1938 to the late Leo W. and Rose H. (Hyland) Geil.
Rosella was a 1959 graduate of Green Bay East High School. She was a retiree of the Green Bay Catholic Diocese. She was a 49 year member of Green Bay Deaf Club, and was inducted into the Deaf Club Hall of Fame in 2013. She enjoyed her 40 annual "no cooking, no cleaning" vacations at the Wisconsin Lion's Camp in Rosholt. She also enjoyed time with her large Irish family and looked forward to the annual Hyland St. Patrick's Day get togethers. Dementia may have stolen her memories, but her sweet, easy going and fun loving personality remained.
Rosella will be sadly missed by her daughter, Sandra Kramer. Her son James (Shawn) Evenson, along with Cody and Jenna, and her 3 great-grandchildren. Her brothers; Ken (with special friend, LaVerne) Geil and LeRoy (Mary) Geil. Her brother-in-law, Jim Hermann. Her nephews; Doug, Phillip, Henry and Simon. Her nieces; Kenda and Kim. Her great nieces and nephews. Her special friends, Rosemary Reinek and Pat Molik.
Rosella is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Sandra Geil, Carol Sampo and Patti Hermann; a brother John Geil. Her sister-in- law, Florence (Deb) Geil and brother-in-law, Charles Sampo.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home (340 S. Monroe Ave. Green Bay, WI) from 10 am to 12 pm with a prayer service at 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for the Wisconsin Lions Camp has been established in Rosella's name.
