Ronald L. Olson
September 23, 1950 — February 8, 2016
Ron L. Olson, 65, passed away Monday February 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Ron was born September 23, 1950 the son of the late Rodger and Ruth (Campbell) Olson.
After high school Ron chose to join the Marine Corps and to serve his country in the Vietnam War. He was an enthusiastic Brewer fan. Opening Day was his favorite time of year as it allowed him to spend time with his son and his friends. Ron retired from Georgia Pacific after more than 20 years and devoted his time to volunteering. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his grandchildren and the other children at his daughter's childcare.
Ron is survived by his children, Lee Olson and Katie (Tristan) Lutzke; siblings, Terry (Dorothy) Olson, Randy (Deb) Olson, Laurie Olson, JoAnn (John) Pasterski, and Debbie (Lonnie) Korgan; his two totally awesome grandchildren, Robin and Emelia Lutzke; mother of his children and friend, Kris Matthies; his neighbor and friend, Mary Boyce.
Memorial visitation will be held at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay) on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 5 to 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church (321 S. Madison St. Green Bay) from 10 to 10:45 AM. Service to follow at 11 AM. Military honors will be held immediately after service.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Unity Hospice.
