Roger Daniel Wavrunek, age 87, of Maribel, WI went home to Jesus on December 9, 2024. He was born on May 3rd, 1937 to the late James & Margaret (Steinhorst) Wavrunek.
On Sept.13,1958 he married June Marie Vanden Plas. They had four children: Jeff (Laurie) Wavrunek; Colette (Dave) Wallerius; Mike (Jenny) Wavrunek; MaryJo (Scott) Robinson. In 1969 they moved from Green Bay to start Denmark Automated Farm Equipment.
Roger wore many ‘hats’ in his lifetime: Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, National Guardsman (6 yrs), Laborer, Business Owner and Auctioneer. He was a member of the Catholic Knights and a devoted believer at St. James Catholic Church - Cooperstown, WI.
Survivors include four children/spouses; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Jane Soletski, sister-in-law; Carol & Frank Wisnicky, sister-in-law & brother-in-law; Nancy Shusta, sister; Tom & Lyn Wavrunek, brother & sister-in-law.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; Hank & Angeline Vanden Plas (in-laws); Merlin & Shirley Vanden Plas, brother-in-law & sister-in-law; John Soletski & Eugene Shusta, brothers-in-law.
Visitation with be on Friday Dec. 20th, 10-11:00 AM at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, 2770 Bay Settlement Rd. Green Bay, WI. A funeral celebration will be held at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
Our family would like to thank the caregivers at Patient Pines LLC Assisted Living Facility, the Aseracare Hospice Team and Deacon Bernie (St. Bernard Catholic Church) for their wonderful compassionate care.
