Roger L. Briggs

Roger L. Briggs, age 81, of Green Bay, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 18, 1936 in Green Bay, son of the late Everett and Leona (Oudeans) Briggs and was a graduate of Green Bay West High School, Class of 1954.

Roger married his high school sweetheart, Darlene Ann Krause, April 4, 1959 and they celebrated 51 years of marriage before she passed away, June 27, 2010. Roger served as a fire fighter for the Green Bay Fire Department for 30 years. His fellow fire fighters were his second family.

Roger was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. The family spent many memorable years visiting their cottage near Lake Lucerne. Roger always made his family a priority-they were always well cared for.

Roger is survived by his children, Mike Briggs and Cheryl (John) Kollath; 6 grandchildren: Andrea (Eric) Militello, Justin and Aaron Briggs, and Nicole, Stephanie, and Gregory LaHaye; 4 great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Amy Briggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; an infant daughter, Lisa Ann Briggs; a son, Bradley C. Briggs; a brother, Everett (Marirose) Briggs Sr. and a sister, Janice (Richard) Resch.

Visitation will be held at Grace Lutheran Church (321 S. Madison St., Green Bay), Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 2 to 3:30 PM. A funeral service will follow at 3:30 PM with Pastor Julie Wrubbel-Lange officiating. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
