Roger Denis Bertrand, 91, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2021. He was born September 12, 1929 in Green Bay, WI to the late George and Grace (Soquet) Bertrand. Roger spent his childhood in Green Bay. He went to college in Lake Forest, IL and met the love of his life, Joyce Hardy. Joyce and Roger married on September 13, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Forest. The couple moved immediately to Georgia where Roger served in the Army during the Korean War.
Roger and Joyce lived many years in Green Bay, WI, raising their two daughters and working at the family-owned Bertrand's Sporting Goods store.
Together they enjoyed 20 years of retirement in Hot Springs Village, AR. They returned to Green Bay in March of 2010. Roger was a caregiver for Joyce until she passed away in 2012. Roger was a wonderfully kind and generous man. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He will be remembered by family and friends as a jokester. He always knew how to make people smile and laugh. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling the world with his wife Joyce.
Roger was a member of several local groups including the Lions, Elk, Shriners, Optimists, Kiwanis, Brown County Sportsman Club, Babe Ruth League, and was involved with the Special Olympics.
Roger is survived by his two daughters: Lynn Bertrand of Green Bay, and Lisa Bertrand Keenum of Seattle, WA.; three grandsons: Michael, Garrett, and Dylan Martell;one granddaughter: Sheridan Rose Moore and his brother Gary Bertrand.
Roger was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, Grace and George, and his brother, Richard.
Visitation for Roger will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church (2040 Hillside Lane, Green Bay, WI 54302) from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM with full Military Honors to follow. Inurnment will be at Nicolet Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family and they will donate them to different charities that Roger supported.
