GREEN BAY - Robert A. Wallenfang, 90, Green Bay, passed away with his loving wife, Marjorie at his side, on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
Bob was born on March 24, 1928 in De Pere, son of the late Adam and Emma (Bolssen) Wallenfang. Robert graduated from Green Bay West High School Class of 1946. On July 30th, 1960 he married Marjorie Mikulsky at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay.
Bob served in the US Navy from 1950 until his honorable discharge in 1954. While in the Navy he served aboard the U.S.S LST 980 and the Destroyer U.S.S. Brough . After serving his country he worked at Northwest Engineering as a purchasing and inventory controller for 40 years. He was an communicant at St. Joseph Catholic Church for 58 years where he was a CCD Teacher, Holy Name Society member, Eucharistic Minister, and involved in the Love Life Program. He was a natural athlete and loved tennis, volleyball, bowling, skiing, horseback riding (his horse was named Cactus), swimming, and golf. Bob was a huge football fan, and served as an Usher when Lambeau Field first opened and many years to follow. He also served as a "Concerned Heart" volunteer for Bellin Health for many years.
Robert A. Wallenfang was very kind hearted man with a sense of humor that will be forever missed. It brings us peace knowing that he is in his final resting place with the Lord. Robert is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Mikulsky); children Karen (Todd) Mielke, Anne (Michael) Tanski, Susan (John Reynders) Jonas; grandchildren Allison Mielke, Valerie Mielke, Jacqueline Mielke, Jason Tanski, Nicole Tanski, Blair Tanski, Zach Jonas, Emma Jonas, and Gabrielle Jonas. He is further survived by sisters-in-law Arlene Hasseler, and Beatrice (Larry) Moens. He is joined in death by his parents and siblings; Adam and Emma (Bolssen) Wallenfang, Evelyn Wallenfang, and Merlin (Cleo) Wallenfang; mother and father-in-law Frank and Anna Mikulsky; brothers-in-law Richard (Jean) Mikulsky, and James Hasseler; sisters-in-law Marion (Fred) Pirozzoli, and Theresa (Peter) Maldonado along with a grandson, Martin Tanski.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 15th from 9 AM - 10:45 AM at St. Joseph Church, 936 9th St., Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Entombment will be at Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to: Bellin Health Foundation or the Love Life Program .
