Robert "Bob" C. Tomcheck, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, after a long battle with a chronic disease.

He was born on October 12, 1951, in Green Bay, to the late Harold & Catherine "Kay" Tomcheck. He graduated from Green Bay West in 1970. Bob reached the rank of Eagle Scout while a member of the Boy Scouts.

Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy after High School. He was a Navy Diver & Radar man during the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Hitchiti and was honorably discharged in 1974. He then attended UWGB obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Human Development, he graduated in 1979, he then further went on to earn his Masters Degree in Administrative Sciences from UWGB.

He worked as a district executive for the Boy Scouts of America in district 12, Bob spent several years selling insurance for AAL and Weber Insurance. Most recently, Bob took various positions as a grant writer and development for various non profit organizations in Northeast Wisconsin and Milwaukee. He contributed to the funding sources for the Menominee Indian Tribe, Amerindian Center/ Homeless Shelter, as well as the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin. After retirement, he worked as a car parker for the Green Bay Packers and PMI.

Bob married Sally Weber on May 16, 1987, at First English Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.

He is a member of the VFW Duck Creek, the VVA, and Grace Lutheran Church

Bob avidly loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, ATVing, canoeing, enjoyed gaming, and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Sally; children, Kersten (fiancé, Jon) and Kyra (fiancé, Eric) Tomcheck; sister, Lona Stonebreaker of De Pere; nephews, Nic (Angel) Joosten and Robbie Liesch; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Newcomer - Green Bay Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Ave. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 S. Madison Ave. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday with Pastor Julie Wrubbel-Lange officiating, followed by Full Military Honors. Burial will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to a special friend, Jim Stiebs who spent many days with Bob. Also, thank you to Bellin ICU, the ICU nursing staff and Dr. R. Verma and Dr. Ahuja, and DaVita Riverside Dialysis Center, the Doctors of Bay Area Nephrology, Dr. Neu, Dr. Smith, and Dr. A. Verma, Kristi NP, and nurses Donna and Kim.

Memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to the National Kidney Association.
