Robert Lee Smith, 69, of Crivitz, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on March 14th due to a brief illness with his loving wife by his side. Just like he dealt with all experiences in his life, Rob managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.
Rob was born in Pasco, Washington, on November 24, 1951 to the late Earl Smith, Jr., and the late Joycelyn (Heald) Smith. Rob was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Pasco High School in 1970. On June 20, 1970, Rob married Cheryl L. McFee (Ringering) and together they were blessed with two children, Kyle & Marcy. Later in life Rob married the love of his life Teresa, on February 14, 2015.
Rob possessed innumerable life skills: a drilling contractor, a certified welder, an electrician, a business entrepreneur, a truck driver, a certified IT professional, a project manager.... a jack of all trades.
One of Rob's biggest accomplishments was being a grandpa. If he could be half the grandpa to his grandkids as his grandpa was to him then they would be the best of buds forever. "How do you tell the story of one so young? You are an inquisitive child whose time is just begun. Your mind is sharp and your wits you do tune. It will be my privilege to watch you bloom!"
Rob is survived by wife, Teresa Nashem Smith; son, Kyle Smith of Vancouver, WA, daughter, Marcy (Chris) Howard of Yakima, WA, and step-son, Josh (Maia) Barnes of Burlington, VT. Grandchildren Justin and Ryan Dole, and Auston, Kassidy, and Jacob Smith. Great-Grandchildren Grayson and Jaxton Dole. Siblings Ron (Pattie) Smith, Ruth Luchi, and Pam Smith-Burkhart. Nephews Nathan, Brendon, Tony, and Cody. Nieces Debi and Shelly.
Preceding Rob in death are his parents, Earl Smith, Jr., and Joycelyn Smith, grandparents Earl Smith, Sr., and Mabel Smith, and best friend Agarn.
Dad always had a sense of adventure, to see what was over the horizon. He kept his mind fertile and active with thoughts of beautiful colors and happy places.
"What would it be like to be me? Grow as tall as a tree and you'll see! From mountain tops to the bottom of the seas, I wander and wonder at the worlds sights being happy-go-lucky and FREE!"
