Robert "Bob" Seamon, Suring, WI (Kelly Lake) 73, beloved husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, went into the light on Saturday, April 7, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob lived life to its fullest. He was born in Chicago, IL in 1938 to the late Helen and Nick Seamon. He spent his youth at Kelly Lake in Suring, WI. His parents owned the Round Roof Supper Club for many years where Bob met some of his wonderful friends. He was a 1956 graduate of Oconto Falls High School and a member of the Panthers Football team. After graduation, he returned to the Chicagoland area to manage the family grocery store. There he met his loving wife Marge and began his life as a family man. They raised their 6 children in Lincoln Estates, IL where they owned Seamons Grocery Store. He relocated back to his beloved Kelly Lake in the 80s and started Bobs Construction. Come rain or shine he was always active, building, creating, fixing, fishing, gardening and helping others. In later years he and Marge became "snowbirds" enjoying their time between WI & FL.
Family values were the core of Bob's life. He loved his wife & family to no end. They were given a precious gift in having Bob as their father. He taught them many good things about hard work, helping one another, and love for family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, traveling, and sharing many of life's gifts with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his loving family: Wife (of 53 years) Marge; children: Debbie (Alan) Koller, Diane (Bill) Applegate, Denise (Doug) Ozburn, Robert "Bobby" Jr (Mandy) Seamon, Kathleen "Kathy" Seamon, and Karen Seamon ; "Frosty The dog"; grandchildren: Amy, Ashley, Caitlin, Christine, Jason, Jennifer, Lindsay, Megan, Morgan, and Nick; great grandson, Brayden; sisters, Eve (late Ferdy) Schefdore and Carol (Mike) Dispensa; aunt, Olga Krenn; and many wonderful friends.
Bobs last wish was to invite family and friends to celebrate his life not morn his passing. As his family, we are making his wish come true. Please join us for a celebration of Bob's life on Monday April 16, 2012 at 4pm at Romys Holiday Inn-Kelly Lake with Robert "Bobby" Jr. officiating, Polkas and Dinner to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family is establishing a memorial fund to build a Gazebo in Bob's name.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful neighbors & friends who have pitched in and assisted them during this difficult time. They could not have done it without you. To our hospice team: Thank you for showering our family with your kindness and care. You helped us keep our promise and bring him home. He was surrounded by his loving family until his last breath.
