Robert "Bob" McNeill, 83, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2021 at his home. Robert was a lifelong resident of Suamico. Robert was born September 9, 1938 in Bay Settlement, WI. He is the son of the late Fredrick McNeill and Ruth (Rousseau) McNeill.
Bob was a graduate of Pulaski High School. After graduating, he served his country in the U.S. Army. Robert was a proud over the road truck driver for Schneider Transport, retiring after 30 years. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Wengrzyn, on August 31st, 1963 at Our Lady of Lourdes, Gatesville, TX. They were married 58 years.
Robert and Dorothy spent their winters at their home in Arizona. They traveled around the country making many friends along the way. He loved traveling both internationally and domestically, including Ireland and Belize. His hobbies included Great Lakes fishing with his grandsons, camping, hunting trips out West, gardening and golfing. He was especially fond of his tractors and trucks. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. His laugh was contagious and he was a father and friend to all. He was a fun-loving guy with a great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; 3 children: Robin (Paul) Kunstmann, Jeff McNeill, Terry (Scott) Allen; grandchildren: Jake Jensen, Justin (Casie) Allen, Adam (Brooke) Jensen, Jessica (Jamie) Burbey, Rachel McNeill, Paige McNeill, Mitchell Allen, Grant Allen; great grandchildren: Melany, McKenna, Will, Collin, Gauge, Wyatt, Myles; his siblings: Jack (Donna) McNeill, Ann Wasurick, Patrick (Sue) McNeill, Joseph (Judy) McNeill, Cora (Tom) Ruder and Fredrick (Bonnie) McNeill and sisters and brothers-in-law: Nona Ruohonen, Marge (Dennis) Muenster, Jan McKee, Beverly McNeill, Lee (Maura) Wengrzyn and Steve (Martha) Wengrzyn. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Walter McNeill and William McNeill; 3 brothers-in-law: Roger Wasurick, Kenner Ruohonen, Dan McKee; one sister-in-law, Carla McNeill and 3 nephews: David Ruohonen, Eric McNeill and Bill Wasurick.
Visitation will be held at SS. Edward & Isidore Parish (3667 Flintville Rd., Suamico, WI), Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 4 to 6 PM. A prayer service will be held at 6 PM to conclude the visiting hours at church. Visitation will continue at the church, Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 10 to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 AM with Fr. David Hoffman, celebrant and followed by full military honors.
