Robert Anthony Flores

October 27, 1960 — August 28, 2017

Robert A. "Tony" Flores, age 56, originally of Sonoma, CA, later of Susanville, CA and recently of Luxemburg, WI, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, August 28, 2017. Tony had endured a lifetime of health issues and passed away due to lack of oxygen to his brain, as a result of a seizure.

Tony was born October 27, 1960 in California, son of Robert Flores and Juanita Kell. He retired from the California Department of Corrections as a Cook Supervisor.

He was an avid baseball player and played for the San Francisco Giants Farm League Team as a third baseman. He enjoyed working with youth and was a coach for Pop Warner youth football. Tony also enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting, fishing, gardening and riding his Harley. He held a special place in his heart for animals and also for country music.

Tony was passionate about his faith and was a Stephen minister. First and foremost, Tony was a loving husband and proud dad and grandpa.

He was as happy as one could be, as he was about to embark traveling with his wife as full-time RV'ers, which was his life-long dream. As a heart transplant recipient, he would have been ecstatic to know that he was able to give the gift of life to someone by donating his liver and other tissues.

Tony is survived by his wife of 7 years, Mary Ellen "M.E."; daughter, Amber Gipson; grandson, Cody Beaty; parents, Robert (Maxine) Flores and Juanita (George) Kell and brother, Bruce (Jonna) Flores. He is further survived by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved canine companions, Ju Ju and Lexie.

He was preceded in death by his son, Sean Dean Flores.

No services have been scheduled at this time.

"As in his life, his death was unselfish. Go in peace, love and faith."
