Robert E. Eckert

June 21, 1931 — April 12, 2014

Eckert, Robert E. 82, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014 after a long illness. Robert was born in Coulstone, Missouri in June of 1931. Robert grew up on the family farm in Licking, Missouri.

In August of 1952 Robert and IlaBelle (Den Ruyter) Eckert were married and started their family. Robert and IlaBelle were blessed with three beautiful daughters. Pam, Rose and Cathy. They were married for 26 years.

In September of 1952 Robert started his career with the U. S. Coast Guard where he was later Honorably Discharged after many years of service.

In the early 1960's Robert drove for Dick Brothers Bakery for many years. His favorite past time was fishing. He enjoyed fishing with his children and grandchildren as well as long time friend Bob Baldwin. Robert was a great story teller and over the years always shared a story where he and Bob went fishing for 87 days in a row.

In 1987 Robert married Judy Eckert (Warden). Robert and Judy were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Bobby, Nicole and Cory. They were married for 24 years.

Robert is survived by his sister Francis (Max) Wade, three daughters, Pam (Gary) Parma, Rose (Kim) Casperson and Nicole (Steve) Seymour, two sons, Bobby Eckert and Cory Eckert as well as son-in-law, Scott Thompson. Robert was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and just recently blessed with his first great-great grandchild.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Bessie Eckert (Pillings), brother Harold Eckert, daughters Roberta Eckert and Cathy Thompson (Eckert) and granddaughter Emily.

It was Robert's wish to forgo a traditional memorial service and for people to celebrate his life with a drink of their choice.

Robert's family would like to thank everyone involved in his care at Manor Care Health Services of Green Bay and Unity Hospice. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Megan, Kathy and Steve.
