Robert "Bob" H. Dow, 60, Green Bay, passed away suddenly, Thursday, September 13, 2012. He was born October 13, 1951, in Green Bay, to the late Richard and Marion (Smith) Dow. Bob graduated from Preble High School with the class of 1970. On October 23, 1971 he married the love of his life, Belinda Ostrenga at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Green Bay. Bob became friends of many through his business at Dick's TV and Basten's Tavern with his father, followed by VanBoxel's Bar, and the University BP. He made an impact on everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Bob was a major fundraiser and advocate for the CP Telethon, through Basten's Tavern.
Bob loved rollercoasters (he has ridden on over 100 different ones), traveling, was a very talented jack of all trades, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Belinda; 3 children: Jennifer (Tay) Dryer, Stacy LaBine-Mann, and Douglas (fiancé, Jacque Nienow) Dow; grandchildren, Riley, Quentin, Spencer and Adam Dryer; Shamus and Sawyer Mann, Alexis (great-granddaughter, Chloe on the way), Shonn and Seth LaBine; Hailey, Kaycen and Landyn Dow; 2 sisters, Pat Hagerty and Debbi (Patrick) Dashnier; brother-in-law, Randy Ostrenga; 1 niece, Nikki (Brian) O'Donnell; and 5 nephews: Mike (Michelle), Scott (Brittany), and Kelly Hagerty, Jeremy (Julie) and Shawn (Nicole) Dashnier; mother-in-law, Carol Walker; father-in-law, Norman (Shirley) Ostrenga; and multiple extended family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Jayden Dryer; brother, Rick Dow; brother-in-law, Scott Hagerty; son-in-law, Shaun Mann; and father-in-law, Earl Walker.
Family and friends may call Monday, September 17, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a sharing of memories at 7:30pm and a brief prayer service to follow with Rev. Peter Speckhard. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church 2335 S. Webster Ave., Green Bay, from 9:00am until 10:45am. The funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday at the church at 11:00am with Rev. Joshua Errer officiating.
