Robert "Bob" Michaels Sr.

Robert "Bob" Michaels Sr., 87, of Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013. He was born February 24, 1926, in Sturgeon Bay, to the late Henry and Hannah (Magle) Michaels.
Robert proudly served his county in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII in the South Pacific, where he earned a Purple Heart. He later became a member of the American Legion Post 0230 in De Pere.
On July 2, 1954, Robert married Abigail Hintz from Oneida. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and watching the Packers.
Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Abigail; daughter, Brenda (Bobby) Martin; son, Bob (Lori) Michaels; 3 grandsons, Mitch and Travis Michaels and Ryan Florian; sister, Martha Anderson; 2 brothers, Virgil (Betty) and Bernard (Angela) Michaels; sister-in-law, Esther (Bill) Collins; and brother-in-law, James Patterson.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
Family and friends may call Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 2:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
