Robert Adrian Gallagher, 90, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2014. He was born June 20, 1923, in Milwaukee, to the late Adrian and Catherine (Listel) Gallagher. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. On August 20, 1945, he married Mary Ann Delaurelle, they celebrated 45 years of marriage before her passing on August 19, 1991.
Robert worked at the Green Bay Press Gazette for 22 years as a pressman. After his time at the Press Gazette Robert along with six others formed the Metropolitan News Paper Corporation where Robert was a Director of the Corporation. He later retired from the Green Bay School System.
Robert enjoyed photography, skiing in the Rockies, and golfing. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and N.E.W. Zoological Society. Robert was a supporter of the Boys & Girls Club.
Survivors include his sons, Michael (Jeanne) and Patrick (Rita) Gallagher; grandchildren, Ryan (Jen) Gallagher, Michelle (Jason) Derousseau, and Corey (Kaethe) and Casey (Heidi) Gallagher; great-grandchildren, Owen and James Gallagher, Aiden, Brenna, and Piper Derousseau, and Liam, Norah, and Nathan Gallagher; siblings, Adris Barbeau and Mary Agnes (Ronald) Adriansen.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; his parents; and brother-in-law, George Barbeau.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 11:00am until 1:00pm. A funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
