Richard Leo Warden, age 89, of Ledgeview, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 11, 2024, with family by his side. He was born September 8, 1934, son of the late Leo and Lorraine (Jolly) Warden.
Richard proudly served his country, serving in the US Army until his honorable discharge. He remained an active member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post #186. Richard married Gloria Nemetz, October 15, 1960 in Denmark, WI. They shared 63 loving years of marriage. He held many jobs in the Green Bay area, including Pott's Cheese Factory, Pauly Cheese, Taicher Trucking and Oneida Golf Course. He also volunteered with the Ledgeview Fire Department for many years.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved playing cards, sheepshead, shaking dice and trips to the casino. Richard was happiest when he was spending time with his beloved family and friends.
Richard is survived by his wife, Gloria; his 5 children: Lori (special friend, John Reinke) Warden, Kevin (Chris) Warden, Sarah (Darren) Hebel, Susan "Sue" (special friend, Randy Thome) Warden and Paul (Shari) Warden; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Mary Ann Siporski and a brother, Jerome Warden. He is further survived by Gloria's sister, Betty Conrad and brothers-in-law, Merle Watzka and John Barrett, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Frank Siporski, a sister-in-law, Darlene Warden, a niece, Mary Lynn Siporski and a nephew, Joey Siporski.
Visitation will be held at Prince of Peace Parish (3425 Willow Rd., Green Bay, WI), Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 9 to 11:45 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 NOON followed by full military honors.
