Richard M. "Dick" Turtenwald, age 89, of Pound, WI, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018. He was born March 24, 1929, son of the late Harry and Harriet (Bedora) Turtenwald.
Dick graduated from West Division High School, Milwaukee, WI. On March 4, 1950, Richard married Marilyn Marks, the love of his life. Dick and Marilyn were blessed with 4 children: Sandra (James) Larson, Richard A. (Joanne) Turtenwald, Susan (Robert) Peters and Randy (Julie) Turtenwald. He was a master machinist at Joseph Schlitz Brewery for 30 years. Dick was a member of the Masonic Tri-County Daylite Lodge #218, the Tripoli Shrine, the Scottish Rite and a lifelong member of the I. A. of M. Union.
Dick was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and just being on the lake.
Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marilyn; his 4 children; 10 grandchildren: Nicole, Tara, Richard M., Kristen, Alyssa, Steve, Chris, Mike, Ryan and Daniel; 8 great-grandchildren: Breven, Bryce, Sophia, Richard T., Landon, Violet, Noah and Jazz and a brother-in-law, Bud Marks.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Turtenwald and a sister, Beverly Jends.
Visitation will be held at Beaver American Lutheran Church (N4557 19th Rd., Pound, WI), Friday, July 6, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM. A funeral service will follow at 4 PM with Pastor Christina Forsythe officiating. Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to Shriner's Hospital for Children-Chicago in Richard's name are appreciated.
