Richard "Rick" Murphy, age 75, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 13, 2022. He was born on July 18, 1946 in Green Bay the son of the late Maurice and Agnes (Taylor) Murphy. Rick was a veteran and proudly served in the United States Navy. Rick was an avid Packer fan, always living in the shadows of Lambeau Field. He enjoyed spending his retirement working at Sam's Club and he will be greatly missed by his work family.
Rick reconnected with his childhood friend, whom he loved dearly, Gloria (Trepanier) Neldner and went on to marry her on May 16, 2017. He had a passion for travel, especially Central America and his most recent trip was with his wife, and brother, Dan (Pat) to Mexico. He had a great sense of humor and always had a way to make people laugh. Rick loved having cookouts, and entertaining his friends and family. Family was very important to him, and was most proud of his children and grandchildren.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria, his four children: Rich (Kirsten) Hilger, Matt (June) Murphy, Kellie (Tom) Burch, and Gina (Michael) Fredrickson; three step-children: Natalie Neldner, Corina (Dave) Kasper, and Wyatt Neldner; four grandchildren: Alyssa, Carter, Thomas, and Aria; six step-grandchildren: Nathan, Kayla, Tyler, Dylan, Ricky, and Dakota; four step-great-grandchildren: Nathan, Serenity, Dawson, and Sophia; three siblings: Christine Murphy, Lynne Murphy, and Tim (Holly) Murphy; brothers and sisters-in-law: Butch Trepanier, Patti (Tim) Warner, Marilyn K., and Pat Murphy; he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Jeff and Daniel Murphy.
Friends and family may visit at Newcomer Chapel, 340 S. Monroe Ave on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 4:00pm with funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm. Private inurnment will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Green Bay.
