Richard (Dick) Lewis Olson, age 65, of Green Bay, WI, passed away on September 30, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Mr. Olson was born on April 24, 1949 in Watertown, WI to the late Ole and Gladys Olson. He married Paula Miller on January 29, 1969 in Manitowoc. She was his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. They were married for 45 years.
Richard worked at the Two Rivers Hospital for 25 years. He then changed careers and was a painter by trade, being self-employed.
He is survived by his wife, Paula; son, Richard Dion (Fawn) Olson Sr.; daughter, Shawntel Froelich; mother, Gladys; brothers, Roger (Bonnie) Olson and Bruce (Mary) Olson; sisters, Susan and Sandra Olson; brothers-in-law, Wayne ( Diane ) Miller and Larry Preston; sister-in-law, Carol Miller; grandchildren, Trissa Ording & special friend Richard Smith, Richard Dion Olson Jr, Nova Lea Olson, Kody Froelich, and Krysta Froelich.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Ole Olson; brothers-in-law, Dale Miller and Bill Preston; one niece and one nephew, and a special cousin Danny Downing.
Friends may call from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay *(Monroe Ave., is closed. Access to funeral home is available off Madison St., One Block West of Monroe Ave., or Crooks St.)* Visitation will continue Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10:00am service will be held at 11:00am at the funeral home.
